The Death card worries many people when it appears in a Tarot
reading.

The biggest, most strapping of men have been seen to look
horrified by its sinister presence.

So is there any need to fear it?

Does the Death card literally mean the death of the person
having the reading or someone dear to them?

The good news is NO is doesn't.

As unnerving as it is to look at a picture of a ghoulish
skeletal figure carrying a scythe, it does not mean physical
death but more a metaphorical end.

In tarot readings, the Death card tells us that is time to bring
things to a close.

Perhaps, you have a business that is not working out or a need
to end a difficult personal relationship or to cut emotional
ties to the past that stop you enjoying your present life.

The card is suggesting to us that it time to let go. It is time
to clear the ground for a fresh start and make way for a new
beginning.

Many people have problems letting go of things that are not
longer useful to them in life. They hold on because they do not
know how to let go.

Nature has mastered this art successfully. Every year plants and
trees die as autumn approaches but they burst in life again the
following spring.

The appearance of the Death card is saying let go now.

If someone has asked a question and the card appears there is
really no need to query further this card tells us that it has
been decided it is over it has ended.

Often it may not be an ending that we would have chosen
ourselves but nevertheless some things are not meant to last.

In a way the Death card marks progress.

It says you have closed a chapter of your life and you can start
again, renewed and refreshed.

The Death card will often confirm what we already know
deep down inside.

Something important has ended. With acceptance of this fact
comes peace of mind
