Cartomancy uses a normal deck of playing cards to perform
divination. Diamonds as a suit foretell outside influences from
the World around you in a reading. Know the meanings of the

When the modern deck of playing cards evolved from the tarot,
readers of the cards developed a system of divination to match.
Taken from the Tarot, these meanings for the cards, and their
relationships for each other were passed down as an oral
tradition for many years. Later, when the printing press was
developed, these traditions were recorded and published in
various sources. The most common meanings for the cards are the
ones shown below. Note that since there is no longer a Major
Arcana in the cards, excepting the fool or joker, which is not
used in readings, other factors such as special card
combinations are interpreted instead.

The person for whom the reading is to be performed, is usually
represented by either a King or Queen card from the appropriate
suit. The King of diamonds is used when the client is a fair or
grey haired older man. Likewise, the Queen of Diamonds is used
to when the client is a fair grey or auburn haired older woman.
If one of these cards is used as the client card, then that card
is ignored for purposes of the reading. Instead, it becomes a
placeholder in the layout which lets us determine the relative
distance of the reading cards and the client of the reading.
Cards which are further away from the client card will have less
affect of the reading than those which fall right beside it.

The following is the common meaning of the various cards in the
suit of Diamonds. Remember that these cards in general predict
the affects of the world around you outside your home and
immediate family. The Ace of Diamonds foretells money being paid
to you for your work. It can also foretell the coming of a
letter or legal document. The King of diamonds predicts your
meeting and interaction with a stubborn hot tempered fair hared
man. The Queen of Diamonds predicts that you will meet and work
with a sophisticated, sometimes flirtations, fair hared woman.
The Jack of diamonds calls for a relative to cross your path. He
is not always reliable and may bring either good or bad fortune
depending on the circumstances. The Ten of Diamonds is the
"change" card. It predicts one of the following: marriage, a
journey, or sudden riches. Some change is going to occur soon.
The Nine of Diamonds predicts a surprise in your near future;
this surprise will be connected to money in some way. The eight
of Diamonds predicts a late marriage for you or someone close to
you. It can also foretell a journey which leads to a new
relationship with a friend of lover. The seven of Diamonds is a
bad luck card; it foretells heavy losses which may or may not be
avoidable. The six of Diamonds is a card of warning; don't enter
a new relationship when this card appears. The five of Diamonds
is the "prosperity" card; it foretells prosperity and good news
for you. The four of Diamonds is a card of change; it can
indicate an inheritance, major changes, or future troubles. The
three of Diamonds foretells discord; look out for legal or
domestic disputes. Finally, the two of Diamonds foretells a
serious love affair with major consequences for you.
