from: Tarot Card Meanings - Justice
I've been neglecting my series in Tarot Card meanings so I
thought now was a good time to get back to it. In this article,
I'm going to cover the Major Arcana card known as Justice. We
all can use a little bit of that in our lives. This is one of
those few cards that actually means what it says, or says what
it means...depending on how you want to look at it.
In its upright key, Justice, in one definition, represents a
person who has arrived at a just and fair decision concerning
some issue. An example of this, if you want to take it
literally, would be if you were brought into court for a lawsuit
and did a reading pertaining to the case and this card came up
in the tenth position of a Celtic Cross spread. This does not
mean that the decision is going to go on your favor. It just
means that a just and fair decision was made. Some people
misinterpret this card to mean in your favor. It does not.
In more subtle situations, this card could mean that in
determining a course of action to take that when deciding what
that should be, you should stick to your original instinct and
not let others persuade you differently. Your gut is probably
right in this matter. In other words, and this is many times
based on your past experience with things, you should do what
you feel is best. Ultimately, whatever decision you made, it was
the right one.
In reverse key, this could very well mean that an injustice was
done to you. Sometimes those court cases rule against you and it
was totally unfair. Life is like that. This card in reverse
could very well indicate that you were done wrong, plain and
simple.
In other meanings, it is possible that somebody has or is taking
advantage of you. If you're doing a spread involving some kind
of a relationship, whether it be business or personal, and this
card comes up in reverse in the tenth position, it could very
well mean that you are about to be victim. This is when you need
to keep your eyes open.
The bottom line with this card in reverse is that in many
instances, this was a karmic lesson that you needed to learn and
it is best to just move on and learn from it.
Justice is indeed one of those cards that is straight forward
and pretty easy to read.
Thank goodness for that much.
